Deep Street Soul hit the Workers Club this Saturday for their final show in Melbourne before taking off to tour the UK & Europe, which includes an appearance at the Glastonbury Festival. Deep Street will also be flying the flag for Funky Melbourne at Floripa London, ‘Band on the Wall’ (Craig Charles’ Night) in Manchester, The Yardbird Jazz Club in Birmingham, as well as shows in Bordeaux, Toulouse and culminating July 6th at St Paul Soul Jazz Festival. Wow!
Deep Street Soul aren’t the only Melbourne band heading off to Glastonbury either! Saskwatch and The Bombay Royale are also on their way.
You can support the bands and Melbourne Soul by checking out Satuday’s gig at the Workers (also featuring Up Up Away, Karate Boogaloo and Peirre Baroni) – PLUS – hit the bands POZIBLE pages and kick in a few bucks to help the bands reach their totals.
Congratulations to Saskwatch who have already hit their target and will NOT be pawning their equipment in order to fly back to Melbourne. Props for a great show at the John Curtain Hotel on the weekend just passed. Glastonbury LOOKOUT!
And props to Chris Gill and Lance Ferguson who featured these 3 bands on “THE SOUL OF MELBOURNE” compilation. Their upcoming appearances at Glastonbury are testament to the thriving Melbourne scene. If you don’t own this comp – you need it.
